What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore— And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over— like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.

The one great promise that the theater makes is as a space to listen. And in that space, we’re listening for the answer to a question: is how we live today the way we wish to live tomorrow, and if not, how can we move from where we are to where we wish to be?
