2020-2021 Season Updates
The next production in our 20-21 season was Isaac Gómez’s THE WAY SHE SPOKE, a powerful one-woman show that poetically addresses the harrowing details of las desaparecidas, the vanished women of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. Our intention was to film a cinematic production of this play and bring it to you virtually. Over the past few months, we have worked diligently with our professional unions, AEA, SDC, and USA, to create a safe and responsible plan to rehearse and perform. While our plans did come together, the epidemiological situation in Wisconsin has not, and we are forced to postpone our production until a later date.
Wisconsin has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations over the last few weeks, and we agree with our union representatives that it would be irresponsible to gather our artists at this time. We hope to present this work, virtually, later this season.
Despite these challenges, MCT remains committed this season to pursuing our 45-year mission of supporting local artists and telling stories that you won’t see anywhere else, even if we are forced to change how we tell those stories. We’re excited to share with you new opportunities for our artists and audiences as we further adapt to the world of virtual engagement.
